Northern Army Commander asks troops to remain alert during anti-terrorist ops
A junior commissioned officer of the army’s elite special forces lost his life and three soldiers were injured during a terror attack in Kishtwar recently.
Militants on Friday killed a former Special Police Officer (SPO) after kidnapping him in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Basharat Ahmad. According to the police, Basharat Ahmad’s body was found in Pulwama district.
He was abducted by the gunmen in Shopian district on Friday.

Two other persons – Zahid Ahmad Wagay, and Reyaz Ahmad – abducted by the militants have been released unharmed.
All the abducted people were the residents of Reban village of Zainpora.
This is the third killing of abducted persons by gunmen during the last fortnight. Two persons abducted from Shopian district were earlier killed by gunmen.
Investigation in the matter has been launched.
