Moments after Bharatiya Janata Party pulled out of its alliance with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir, the Opposition slammed the Centre government, with senior Congress leaders Gulam Nabi Azad saying that BJP has ruined the state of J-K.

“We have been proven right that formation of the PDP-BJP government was a…blunder. This is a total failure on the part of the government of India. The BJP and central government can’t shy away from responsibility. The BJP compelled the regional party to have an alliance with it in J-K,” said Ghulam Nabi Azad.

“BJP-PDP failed in running the state. Congress and NC had removed terrorism from the state but when this government had come we had said that the state will be ruined. Large number of soldiers and civilians died during this period,” said Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took to Twitter to share a vague message, which could have hidden undertones in connection with BJP pulling out of the alliance with PDP.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also took to Twitter saying, “After ruining it, BJP pulls out of Kashmir”.

While, Communist Party of India (M) MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said that the leadership of both the PDP and the BJP are answerable before the people of Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country for their unprincipled alliance which ended today but not before pushing the state in deep crisis.

Till yesterday the leadership of PDP and BJP were praising each other like anything. What happened all of sudden people want to know? Now different tones are coming from each of them. This is an attempt by BJP to evade responsibilities. People in the state and the country want to know what they (BJP) have done in four years in Center and more than three years in J-K to address the issue of deepening crisis and uncertainty in J-K, added Tarigami.

On the other hand, PDP spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir said, “We tried our best to run the govt with BJP. This had to happen”. On breaking up of alliance, Mir said, “This is a surprise for us because we did not have any indication about their decision”.

Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti will submit her resignation to J-K Governor NN Vohra shortly. PDP ahs also called a meeting of its members at Mehbooba Mufti’s residence at 4 pm today.
