These trained snipers are reportedly using Dragnov Sniper Rifle of Russian origin with an effective range of 800 metres and heavy sniper rifle of British origin that has a range of 2000 metres.

These trained terrorists operating from the Pakistan pickets were part of the Border Action Teams (BAT) that include men of the Pakistan Army, sources said.

The intelligence source said that as per input received from sources across the LoC, Lashkar-e- Taiba (LeT) terrorist outfit has deployed teams comprising snipers on the LoC.

The snipers are being assisted by Pakistan Army in selecting targets.
