Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday claimed that infiltration bids by terrorists have come down after India’s surgical strikes at terror-training camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) last year.

“No compromise with national respect; attacks have reduced after the surgical strikes,” Rajnath said at the Border Security Force's (BSF) investiture ceremony in New Delhi.

India had carried out surgical strikes on terror camps in PoK in September 2016 in which many militants were killed.

Earlier during the day, Pakistan violated the ceasefire by shelling mortars and opening fire on forward posts along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing and shelling at our positions on the LoC in Rajouri district's Naushera and Krishna Ghati sectors in Poonch," Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta said.
