External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has reached out to the family of a couple who was allegedly stabbed near Munich in Germany.
The man died and his wife sustained injuries after they were stabbed by an immigrant near Munich.
Stating that Prashant has died in the incident and Smita is stable, Sushma Swaraj said the Government of India is facilitating the travel of Prashant’s brother to Germany.
She also expressed her condolences to the bereaved family.
The minister further asked the Consulate General of India in Munich to look after the couple’s two children.
Further details of the incident and the couple were not immediately known.
Meanwhile, asked by a Twitter user why she, the “most sensible” BJP leader, had added the ‘chowkidar’ prefix to her name on the microblogging site, Swaraj tweeted, “Because I am doing Chowkidari of Indian interests and Indian nationals abroad.”
Swaraj has been known for rushing to the aid of Indians who are settled or stranded abroad.
