Indian Army kills two Pak soldiers across LoC in retaliatory firing

Indian Army on Thursday, 1 March, killed two Pakistani soldiers in retaliation to a ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC in Bhimber Gali area of Jammu-Kashmir.

In a statement, the Indian Army said that the Pakistani Army initiated the violation.

“Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 8.45 am in Bhimber Gali sector along the Line of Control. India Army retaliating,” the Army said.

Media reports in Pakistan confirmed the deaths of the Pakistani soldiers.

Quoting Pakistani army’s official media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the reports said that the two soldiers have been identified as Munir Chauhan and Umer Hussain.

While Pakistan resorted to automatics and small arms fire at Bhimber, heavy mortar shelling was reported along the LoC in Balakote and Mankote areas of Mendhar in Poonch district.

Reports say that Indian Army is retaliating effectively against the Pakistani provocation.

There have been 411 ceasefire violations on the LoC so far this year.
