As many as 203 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the country during the past 24 hours, as per the data issued by the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
With the detection of the new cases of infections, the total Covid-19 cases reported in the country so far rose to 4,50,23,954. It also included the JN.1 Covid variant.

Out of the 203 new cases, 89 were reported from Karnataka, 58 from Maharashtra and 11 from West Bengal. The national capital reported four cases.

According to the data of the ministry, two more people succumbed to the disease. One death each was reported from Maharashtra and Karnataka. The death toll stood at 5,33,436.
