Hours after India’s Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale on Friday briefed at least two dozen envoys in Delhi, including those from the P-5 nations over the Pulwama killings, Pakistan Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua also met the envoys of P-5 nations and rejected India’s allegations of Islamabad’s involvement in the terror attack.
“FS today briefed P5 Ambassadors at MoFA. Rejected Indian allegations on Pulwama attack,” Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal tweeted on Friday night.
In the meeting with P-5 envoys, Janjua has “noted a familiar Indian pattern of immediate and reflexive assignment of blame on Pakistan without investigations”.

The Pakistan Foreign Secretary said in the meeting that her country has pursued a constructive approach towards India, and Pakistan’s offer of dialogue and “the Kartarpur initiative is a clear evidence of this”.
Citing Janjua, Faisal wrote on Twitter that “ratcheting up tensions in the region will be counterproductive”.
Foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale met envoys of the United Nation P5 countries – which includes China – the Gulf, Japan and European nations to brief them about Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terror.
The P5 refers to the United Nations Security Council’s five permanent members – United States, United Kingdom, Russia, France and China.
Earlier on Friday, Gokhale summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Sohail Mahmood to the foreign office and issued a strong demarche in connection with the gruesome terror attack on a CRPF convoy.
India also asked its High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria to come to New Delhi for urgent consultations in the wake of the terror attack.

On Friday morning, the Cabinet Committee on Security headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapped the ‘Most Favoured Nation’ status for Pakistan.
The Ministry of External Affairs further decided to initiate all possible diplomatic steps to ensure the complete isolation of Pakistan from the international community.
At least 44 CRPF jawans were killed and nearly 45 seriously injured in a suicide attack when an explosive-laden car rammed into a bus they were travelling in. The terror strike took place near Letapora of Pulwama in South Kashmir.
The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) had claimed responsibility for the suicide attack.
A suicide bomber had rammed an SUV carrying 350 kg of explosives into a bus carrying the CRPF troopers in the deadliest attack in decades on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
