As many as 163 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in India during the past 24 hours, as per the data issued by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday.
With the addition of the new cases of infections, the total Covid caseload of the country rose to 4,50,26,775. It also included the nee JN.1 Covid variant cases.

According to the data, of the new cases, 47 were reported from Karnataka and 37 from Maharashtra.

The national capital reported 16 new cases during the said period.
As per the data, two more succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll to 5,33,461. Maharashtra and Karnataka reported one death each.
On a positive note, 143 people recuperated from the disease. The recovery tally stood at 4,44,92,440.
The active cases in the country stands at 874.
