Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted two projects worth Rs 29 crore to Sitapur and Prayagraj under Centre’s Swadesh Darshan 2.0 via video conferencing from Srinagar on Thursday.
Naimisaranya is located at the junction of the roads from Sitapur and Khairabad.
State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh attended the event at the Satsang Bhawan auditorium in Naimish in Sitapur district.
An amount of Rs 13.02 crore has been approved for projects including Prayagraj World Art, Mini Bus, Parking, and Toilets under the first phase of integrated tourism development. Additionally, under the Vedic Wellness Experience Scheme in Naimisharanya, about Rs 15.95 crore has been sanctioned for jetty and boats, sound and light shows, and other works on the Gomati River.
On the occasion, the PM inaugurated/launched 53 projects in India under the Swadesh Darshan & PRASHAD He also dedicated to the nation and launched multiple projects related to the tourism sector worth more than Rs 1400 crore under Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) Scheme of the Ministry of Tourism for the development of tourist spots in India.
The UP Tourism Minister emphasised that including these destinations in the Swadesh Darshan Scheme would boost tourism and economic growth for the state.
The Naimish Vedic Wellness Experience project, sanctioned under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 and the Prashad Scheme, encompasses the construction of a Vedic trail at Rajghat on the banks of the Gomati River. This trail will provide information about Vedas, Puranas, Chakratirtha, Maharishi Dadhichi, Maharishi Vedvyas, and Maharishi Sutji. Additionally, tourist facility centres will be established at five locations in Naimish, equipped with food outlets, toilets, and separate feeding rooms for children.
Jaiveer Singh mentioned that boating facilities will also be introduced on the Gomati River under the Swadesh Darshan Yojana 2.0 to enhance the tourist experience in Naimish.
