Amid row over self-proclaimed Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh’s activities in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said people, especially the media, should “ignore those who are trying to destabilise Punjab by inciting the youth”.
Addressing the gathering while handing over recruitment letters to veterinary officers, Mann asserted that every effort will be made to further strengthen the ethos of communal harmony and brotherhood in the state.

He said peace, progress and prosperity are the ultimate aim of the state government and this can be fulfilled only with the active support and cooperation of people.
The chief minister said the state government is considering launching of its flagship program of ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar’ under which the residents will get the 40 citizen centric services at their doorsteps. He said this scheme will be available online via app and the residents will get the benefits of this scheme just on a phone call.
The CM said it will enable the residents to get the citizen centric services at their doorsteps in a smooth and hassle free manner.
Mann said his government is working overtime to promote allied farming activities in the state to supplement the income of the farmers. Mann said the state government is also laying major thrust on the food processing sector and processing plants for sugarcane, garlic, kinnow and other fruits will soon be set up in the state.
Listing the initiatives of his government, the CM said the state government has fulfilled the guarantee of giving 300 units of free electricity per month from 1 July. He said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that 87 per cent of the households in the state have zero electricity bills in the months of November-December, 2022.
Mann said the state government has started 500 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state to impart quality health services in the state. He said to deliver the best education to the students ‘Schools of Eminence’ have been set up across the state.
The CM said this is the dawn of new and vibrant Punjab adding that the day is not far when with the strenuous efforts of the state government, Punjab will lead the country in every sphere.
The chief minister further said that the state government is duty bound to ensure that there is no shortage of power during the ensuing summer and paddy season. He said the days of long cuts have ended in the state as Punjab is heading towards becoming power surplus. Bhagwant Mann said that due to the efforts of his government the power generation in the state has been enhanced by 83 per cent.
