IAF organizes IOE25 to promote atmanirbhar defence ecosystem
In a significant push towards enhancing India’s defence capabilities and fostering indigenous innovation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to host the Industry Outreach Event 25 (IOE25).
President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday expressed his sadness over the death of seven five personnel of the Armed Forces killed in a chopper crash in Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Saddened to learn about tragic crash of IAF helicopter in Arunachal Pradesh; heartfelt condolences to bereaved families,” the president tweeted.

Five Indian Air Force (IAF) and two Indian Army personnel died when a Mi-17 V5 chopper of the IAF, operating in the high-altitude area of Tawang near the Indo-China border, crashed at around 6 am.

The crash comes a day ahead of the Air Force Day which is extensively celebrated by the IAF.
The authorities have ordered a court of inquiry into the crash.
The Mi-17 V5 is a Russian built medium-lift military transport chopper.
