Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh gets 30-day parole
This is the second parole for the Dera chief this year. He was earlier granted parole in January for 40 days. As Ram Rahim has not been allowed by the court to visit his ashram in Sirsa
As ‘a great daughter’ of ‘an amazing father’, Honeypreet Insan wore more than one hat as the cloest aide of the jailed Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh-led Dera Sacha Sauda.
Described as multi-talented Gurmeet’s ‘equally talented’ daughter, Honeypreet’s (36) real name is Priyanka Taneja and she was considered closet to the self-styled godman. She was one of contenders for taking over the mantle after the Dera chief’s conviction.

Hailing from Fatehabad town in Haryana, she studied in a dera-run school and married a dera follower in Vishwas Gupta in 1999 in the presence of Gurmeet. Gupta later took divorce from Honeypreet in 2011 claiming she was having illicit relation with the dera chief.

As Honeypreet became most close aide of Gurmeet, some reports say even the godman’s two daughters Amanpreet Kaur Insan, Charanpreet Kaur Insan and son Jasmeet Singh were forced to stay away from the dera chief in separate bungalows within the dera premises in Sirsa. Honeypreet, however, stayed in Tera Vaas, the personal accommodation of Ram Rahim.
Honeypreet’s who refers to herself as ‘Papa’s angel’ and has over a million followers on Twitter and about 5 lakh followers on Facebook . She also has a website in her name which describes her as a philanthropist, editor, actor and director. This website, https://www.honeypreetinsan.me/, says Honeypreet has “creativity, talent, humility and passion” to turn her father’s visions into reality.
As per this website, Honeypreet’s purpose was “not to turn heads but to turn hearts” toward her “heavenly father”.
As a “philanthropist”, Honeypreet claimed to have provided “bus transport to poor people” seeking the self-styled godman’s “gurumantra” during spiritual congregations. She claimed to have given charity for the welfare of needy, medical treatment of poor, for relief aid during disasters and more.
As an “actress”, Honeypreet claimed to have managed to learn acting skills without any professional course of acting.
“All credits goes to her Dad for unveiling the acting skills in her and train her so well that she can stand at par with renowned professional actors,” the website said.
As director, Honeypreet started her career with MSG 2 The Messenger, where she assisted her father, Gurmeet.
