In a significant achievement, the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi in Himachal Pradesh has secured 8th position in the Innovation category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, conducted by the Ministry of Education, government of India.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the results of the ninth edition of the NIRF India Rankings on Monday in New Delhi.

A spokesperson of the institute said, “In addition to its success in the Innovation category, the Institute has also made notable progress in other areas. IIT Mandi has improved its rankings to 31st in the Engineering category and 72nd in the Overall category this year.

While addressing the gathering, Dharmendra Pradhan said, “The Ministry of Education has continuously incorporated feedback from HEIs to make the ranking process more progressive and transparent. We are committed to further enhancing this mechanism to ensure greater transparency and fairness. I urge all public and private sector institutions to actively participate in the National Institutional Ranking Framework, as this will not only help them benchmark their performance but also drive continuous improvement and excellence in the higher education sector.”

Commenting on IIT Mandi’s achievement, IIT Mandi Registrar, Dr. Kumar Sambhav Pandey said, “We are thrilled to see IIT Mandi achieve the 8th position in the Innovation category of NIRF 2024.
