8 tourists stuck in cable car in Himachal; Rescue operation underway
The Timber Trail cable car, which is located on the Chandigarh-Shimla national highway in Solan district, has been stuck in mid-air for more than an hour.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur telephonically informed the Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the incident and requested him to send the NDRF team in view of the safety of the tourists.
After 11 tourists, including four women, were stranded midair before being rescued by the NDRF team at Timber Trail in Parwanoo area of Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, the state government, on Monday, evening ordered a probe into the incident.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur visited Timber Trail Parwanoo in district Solan to meet the tourists who were safely rescued from the cable car today. While interacting with the media persons, Chief Minister said the state government is committed to protecting precious human life.

The Chief Minister stated that an inquiry has been ordered in this regard.

Earlier, the Chief Minister, while attending a programme in Hamirpur, had telephonically informed the Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the incident and requested him to send the NDRF team in view of the safety of the tourists.
Thakur personally reached Parwanoo from Hamirpur after getting information about the accident. He took detailed information about this incident from the officers present on the spot and the Hotel management.
Jai Ram Thakur interacted with all 11 people safely rescued and inquired about their well-being.
He said appropriate steps would be taken to ensure that such incidents do not reoccur.
He also interacted with the hotel staff and team of NDRF personnel who played a vital role in the rescue work on the occasion and thanked them for saving valuable human lives.
State BJP co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon, MP Shimla and state BJP president Suresh Kashyap, other BJP office bearers, Deputy Commissioner Solan Kritika Kulhari, Superintendent of Police Virendra Sharma, officers and employees of NDRF and other departments were present on the occasion.
