Reiterating his government’s commitment to the welfare of orphans and the destitute, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Rs 92.38 crore Sukh Ashray Adarsh Gram Parisar at Luthan under the Jawalamukhi assembly constituency in the Kangra district.
Addressing the gathering after the foundation laying ceremony, Sukhu said that this campus will offer modern residential facilities to beneficiaries under the ambit of the Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Ashray Yojana.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated projects totalling Rs 38.17 crore for various schemes, including improvement and augmentation of lift water supply schemes. Besides, he also unveiled a police station building at Jawalamukhi, which was completed with an outlay of Rs 5.50 crore. Furthermore, he also inaugurated the additional accommodation building of the Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) built at a cost of Rs 2.13 crore. He also inaugurated the marriage palace-cum-parking facility of the Jawalaji Shakti Peeth Temple Trust for Rs 14.35 crore.
In addition to these initiatives, Sukhu presided over the foundation stone laying ceremonies of various schemes, including irrigation projects under HP Shiva, which will cost Rs 27.30 crore, the Rajiv Gandhi Model Day Boarding School at Banu-Da-Khu costing Rs 5 crore, a Multipurpose Hall at Government Degree College with an outlay of Rs 7.82 crore, Khara Nala channelisation costing Rs 4.18 crore, an Inspection Hut of the Jal Shakti Vibhag amounting to Rs 2.05 crore, and the laying of foundation stones for seven tube wells in Bharoli and Jawalamukhi areas, totalling Rs 5.91 crore.
During his one-day visit to the constituency, the Chief Minister dedicated around 11 projects worth Rs 205 crore.
