Tributes paid to Madan Mohan Malaviya, Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Central Hall of Parliament
Booklets containing the profiles of the two leaders, brought out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, were presented to the dignitaries on their birth anniversary
The Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Friday, bringing to an end the Budget Session that was marked by continuous disruptions.
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu expressed anguish and pain over the disruptions. Naidu said 120 hours were wasted due to disruptions during the Budget Session, which started on 29 January.

Earlier on Friday morning, as the House met, AIADMK MPs protested near Speaker Sumitra Mahajan’s podium, demanding setting up of the Cauvery Management Board.

Mahajan asked the MPs to return to their seats so that the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition against the government can be taken up, but the protests continued. The Speaker then adjourned the House sine die.
Budget Session 2018
The Budget Session of Parliament commenced on 29 January 2018 with a recess period of 23 days from 9 February till 5 March.
The session was mainly devoted to transaction of financial business. During the first part of session, the Union Budget for 2018-19 was presented on 1 February, 2018. General discussion on the Union Budget was held in both the Houses.
During the second part of the session, all the department-related Standing Committees presented their reports on their demands for grants.
While talking to media, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananthkumar said that the first part of the Budget Session yielded a total of 7 sittings of Lok Sabha and 8 sittings of the Rajya Sabha.
In the second part of the session there were 22 sittings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. During the entire Session, there were 29 sittings in Lok Sabha and 30 sittings of Rajya Sabha, he added.
Ananthkumar also informed that during this session, a total of five Bills (5 in Lok Sabha) were introduced. Five Bills were passed by Lok Sabha and one Bill was passed by Rajya Sabha.
