A day after the Indian Army thwarted a Pakistan Army backed Border Action Team (BAT) attack at an army post on the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir, Governor Satya Pal Malik, on Tuesday, emphasised the need for a sharp vigil along the Line of Control and the International Border along Jammu and Kashmir.
The Governor shared his concerns during his meeting with Lt General Ranbir Singh, Northern Army Commander, who met him at the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
Lt Gen Singh briefed the Governor about the prevailing security situation along the forward areas and the hinterland, operational preparedness of the Army for anti-terrorist activities, and the measures being taken for ensuring the safety and security of people living along the LoC and IB.

Lauding the professionalism of the Army, the Governor emphasised on sharp vigil along the Line of Control and IB and maintenance of high ethical standards during discharge of duties.
