Israel killed 900 militants in Gaza’s Rafah: Israeli army chief
Israel has killed about 900 militants in Rafah since the beginning of Israel's ground assault on the southernmost city in Gaza in early May, Israel's military Chief Herzi Halevi said.
Hardline Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani today disapproved of the killing of innocent people by militants, a day after two civilians were gunned down and another injured by the militants.
“Innocent killings can prove detrimental for ongoing freedom movement,” Geelani said in a statement here, commenting on yesterday’s civilian killings in Tral and Arwani areas of south Kashmir.

He said that in an armed confrontation between warring groups, casualties are expected.

“However, killing innocents neither serves any purpose for movement, nor does it suit our ethical values,” the separatist leader said.
Militants yesterday gunned down a woman and critically injured another in Tral.
In another incident yesterday, militants killed a man from Uttar Pradesh, identified as 35-year-old Shakir, in Arwani area of Anantnag district.
