Deadly healthcare lapse claims 3 lives in Chhattisgarh
A devastating tragedy has exposed the shocking state of Chhattisgarh's healthcare system, leaving a trail of grief and outrage in its wake.
Two sub-inspectors were among four police personnel killed in a gunfight with Naxals in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, 24 January. All four belonged to the District Reserve Guard (DRG).
Another seven personnel were injured in the encounter which happened when the police were cordoning off Irpanar forests in search of the Naxals.
The team was composed of DRG and the Special Task Force (STF) personnel.

Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Vivekanand Sinha said the encounter started around 11 am and continued for about two hours.
The police believe that some Maoists, too, were killed in the exchange of fire but their bodies were taken away by their comrades.
Special Director General of Police (anti-Naxal operations) DM Awasthi said that reinforcement was rushed to the spot immediately after information of the encounter arrived.
The injured have been airlifted to Raipur for treatment.
