Cong’s show of admiration for Ambedkar nothing but drama: BJP
The BJP on Monday accused the Congress of invoking Bharat Ratna Bhimrao Ambedkar's legacy for its political purposes.
In his last tweet, posted 10 hours ago, Gurudas Kamat greeted the nation on Eid-ul-Adha.
Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Gurudas Kamat died at a private hospital in New Delhi on Wednesday at the age of 63.
According to media reports, he was rushed to Primus Hospital in Chanakyapuri after he suffered a heart attack.

Kamat had been the president of Mumbai Congress.

Congress general secretary and former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot took to Twitter and termed it an “irreparable loss” for the party.
“Shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the sudden demise of Senior Congress leader Sh. Gurudas Kamat ji. His passing away is an irreparable loss for us. My heartfelt condolences to his family members, may god give them strength to bear this loss. May his soul Rest in peace,” he tweeted.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala also expressed grief over the sudden demise of Kamat.

In his last tweet, posted 10 hours ago, Kamat greeted the nation on Eid-ul-Adha.

On August 19 and 20, he had attended events organised in Maharashtra to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
After attending the events, he had tweeted his several photographs.

Kamat was a senior Congress leader from Maharashtra. He served as the Union Minister during UPA II government.
Kamat was minister of state (MoS) in the Ministry of Home Affairs during UPA II government. In 2011, he was also assigned charge as MoS in the telecommunications and information technology ministry.
He was party in-charge for Gujarat affairs, but was removed in April 2017 to be replaced by Ashok Gehlot.
