Amity University has recently honoured the former Chief Legal Advisor of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), and the incumbent General Counsel of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Group, Hemant Kumar with its honorary professorship.

Hemant Kumar is serving as the Group General Counsel for Larsen & Toubro Ltd. A legal professional with over 35 years of experience, Kumar comes from a family of lawyers, corporate counsels, and judges. An expert in litigations and arbitrations under both Indian and International Laws/Acts.

Kumar has also previously held senior positions with the State Bank of India, BSP-SAIL, JSW Steel (formerly known as Ispat Industries), Reliance ADAG and Essar Group and is widely recognized as a veteran In-house Counsel in Litigations and Arbitrations.
He has been a recipient of many prestigious awards in his glowing career, including the Jawahar Award, one of BSP individual honours, Business Excellence Award by Legal League Counsel, General Counsel of the Year 2013 by Legal Era magazine and also by Corporate Counsel India.
