Odisha’s Khurda road division has achieved one more milestone in freight handling with the first rake of traffic containing 54 wagons of coal transported from the newly established goods shed at Parjang on the Angul-Sukinda Rail line.

A total of 3,167 tonnes of coal was transported from Parjang in Odisha to Durgapur in West Bengal by Damodar Valley Corporation Limited.

The new goods shed of Angul Sukinda Railway Limited at Parjang will handle multiple commodities, including coal from the Talcher area and iron ore from the Sukinda area. It will supply different parts of the country, fulfilling the demands of various powerhouses and manufacturing units while generating revenue for the administration.

HS Bajwa, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road, who was present during the loading of the first rake at the Parjang goods shed, congratulated Dilip Samantroy, Managing Director of Angul Sukinda Railway Limited, and his team for commencing additional traffic handling point for the Khurda Road division.

He said that every effort would be made to transport essential goods and raw materials to various parts of the country to meet the requirements of industries and the public.
