Free electricity, MSP, caste census among key promises in Cong manifesto for Haryana polls
In its manifesto, the Congress has promised to provide 300 units of free electricity and free medical treatment up to Rs 25 lakh to every family in Haryana.
Rahul Gandhi said that Congress will bring a law to guarantee first job for degree and diploma holders.
Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday announced five big poll planks — Bharti Bharosa, Pehli Naukri Pakki, Paper leak se mukti, Gig economy mein Samajik Suraksha, Yuva Roshni — for the country’s youth.
Addressing a public gathering in Rajasthan’s Banswara during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said that if elected to power, the Congress government will fill 30 lakh vacant posts in central government in a time-bound manner and bring a law against examination paper leaks.
The Congress leader also announced to bring another law for Right to Apprenticeship to ensure every degree and diploma holder gets guaranteed training and a stipend of Rs one lakh per annum.

He also promised a Rs 5,000-crore startup fund and social security for gig workers.

Bharti Bharosa: As part of the Bharti Bharosa scheme, the Congress will fill the 30 lakh vacant posts in the central government. If elected to power, the Congress party will fill up these vacancies in a time-bound manner and have a clear timeline from the examination date to the appointment.
Paper leaks se mukti: The recent paper leaks in Uttar Pradesh has brought the issue at the centre of the elections. Rahul Gandhi said that Congress will bring a law against paper leaks to ensure strict action against those involved in this.
Pehli Naukri Pakki: In what could be a game changer for the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi announced an ambitious ‘Firat Job Guaranteed’ scheme. As part of the scheme, the Congress party, if elected to power, will bring a law for ‘Right to Apprenticeship’. The law will ensure every youth below the age of 24 will get paid training in government or private sector after completing his diploma or degree. The government will pay Rs 1 Lakh per annum during the apprenticeship.
Yuva Roshini: In order to boost the start-up eco-system in the country and give entrepreneurship opportunities to the youth, the Congress will distribute across each district a Rs 5,000 crore national startup fund to youth.
Speaking about the Yuva Roshini Startup fund scheme, Rahul Gandhi said Narendra Modi’s Make in India, and Startup India made no difference because only the rich got the benefits.
Gig economy mein samajik suraksha: Over the last few months, Rahul Gandhi has interacted with carpenters, coolies, truck and taxi drivers, delivery persons and other gig workers to better understand their work. Speaking about this, the Gandhi scion said that if elected to power, Congress will bring new laws to provide better work conditions and social security to gig workers.
