MP Cong protests against Shah’s remarks on Ambedkar
The Madhya Pradesh Congress staged protests across the state on Tuesday demanding the resignation of Union home minister Amit Shah over his controversial remarks on Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Refuting allegations of corruption against him, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday said the FIR against him by the CBI is a political vendetta and a conspiracy by Amit Shah and PM Modi.
"The FIR against me is a political vendetta. Conspiracy by Amit Shah and PM Modi. From day one, they have tried to break our alliance," the deputy CM said after attending a meeting of the state cabinet.

"I had pledged zero tolerance to corruption when I took over as minister. Not a single case of corruption has been reported so far in my three departments," he added.

The duputy chief minister's statement comes a day after his party's coalition partner the JD(U) said that those accused of corruption should make public all "the facts in the public domain."
Saying that the grand alliance in Bihar is strong, he said the BJP is will get a fitting reply from his party in its attepmt to break the alliance.
"The alliance is strong and will not break. The BJP will get a fitting reply," he said.
Talking about the FIR filed by the CBI, he said, "They are bringing up cases of 2004 against me. I was 13-14 years old that time. How could a kid do all this?"
Earlier in the day, the Janata Dal (United) asserted that Tejaswhi Yadav needs to come out clean with regards to a corruption case filed by the CBI and said the party wouldn't compromise with its principles and a decision would be taken accordingly.
"We are in a mahagathbandhan, but to maintain the coalition, the responsibility falls on everyone. Hence, he needs to come out clean on the FIR filed by the CBI. We cannot sit silently and the JDU will cannot comprise its principles. We will take our decision accordingly," JD(U) leader Ajay Alok was quoted as saying by a news agency.
According to reports, the CBI had on Friday registered a corruption case against Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, son Tejashwi Yadav; former Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Managing Director PK Goyal; and the wife of Lalu's confidante Prem Chand Gupta, Sujata on allegations of awarding the tender for development, maintenance and operation of hotels in Ranchi and Puri in 2006.
