Famous Khatu Shyam Baba temple, a pilgrimage for worshipping the deity Krishna and Barbarika who is often venerated as a Kuldevata, in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, opened today after 84-days with new facilities and ‘Darshan’ route plans for the general public.
The temple was closed in August when three women pilgrims were killed and a few others were injured in a melee at the opening of the gate of the temple on August 8.
A high level district and temple-trust committee decided to plan and rebuild the proper routes to meet the pilgrimage rush and ‘darshan’ of Khatu Shyam Baba to avoid any congestion or any untoward incident in the future, Ramesh Borana, Vice-Chairman of Rajasthan State Fair Authority, said here.

Borana closely observed the entire temple inside and outside area walking barefoot and expressed satisfaction over the new facilities and expressed confidence that as per the CMO orders, now the devotees can reach the temple easily and offer obeisance in a shorter time.
While inspecting the development works, Borana directed Deputy Collector Pratibha Singh, the temple trust’s functionaries Pratap Singh Chauhan and Sunil Singh to ensure that the roads under construction be completed before the upcoming fair of Baba, a Lakhi Mela on February 22.
