Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Friday attacked the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) for its association with the controversial Haryana Lokhit Party leader Gopal Kanda in Haryana.
Right after the results, the eight other MLA-elect in the state including seven independents, and Haryana Lokhit Party chief Gopal Kanda pledged their support for the BJP in the state. The controversy aroused since then as Gopal Kanda is also an accused of molestation and abetment of suicide of her former employee, Geetika Sharma.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took Twitter to attack the BJP for its series of association with the accused of women abuse cases. She pointed to Kuldip Sengar, a rape accused BJP MLA from Bijnor, who is not only accused of raping a women but also killing her family members.

Kuldip Sengar was recently in news again after the victim with her family and lawyer met an accident in July after colliding with a truck on their way to Rae Bareli from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh. In the accident, two of her aunts died on spot while the girl, her lawyer and the driver of the car were admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.
Another controversial leader of BJP who made news is Chinmayanand Swami, accused of kidnapping and sexual harassment of a 23-year-old law student in Uttar Pradesh.
The woman is a student of Shahjahanpur’s Swami Shukdevanand Postgraduate College, where Chinmayanand is the President of the managing committee. He was a Union Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee led NDA government during 1999-2004.
In her tweet, Priyanka Gandhi said, “First Kuldip Sengar, then Chinmayanand, now Gopal Kanda….every self-respecting Indian woman should boycott the BJP and its leaders if they EVER dare to speak of respecting women again.”

Falling short of the majority in the state, BJP managed to get 40 seats in the Assembly elections with six seats far from the magic figure to form the government. From Thursday, the speculations about who will form the government in the state were on high with independents pledging support to BJP. Earlier the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) which was inclined towards the Congress had extended its support to BJP last night. JJP chief Dushyant Chautala announced his support to BJP after meeting its president Amit Shah in New Delhi.
