Simultaneously, the state administration has appealed to the ECI to conduct the elections prior to the Bohag Bihu festival.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has also requested for this timing, believing it would foster a more festive and participative electorate.
Both the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary Paban Borthakur will emphasise this request during the ECI team’s visit.
