Amit Shah blames Left rule for Tripura’s backwardness
Speaking at a public meeting following a visit to a rehabilitated Bru tribal village on Sunday, Shah contrasted the communist era with the BJP's development agenda.
The process to file nomination papers by the candidate has started. The last date for filing of nomination is January 30.
The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday has issued its notification for the Assembly polls for 60 legislative seats in Tripura slated for February 16 clearing the decks for the candidates to submit their nominations.
The last date of filing of nomination papers in the north eastern state is January 30. The papers would be scrutinized with relevant documents on January 31. The candidates would be able to withdraw their nominations February 2.

The country’s poll panel, this time, has appointed 60 returning officers and 180 Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) for the convenience of the candidates.

But no party in the state has yet finalized their candidates since the parties are waiting for the seal of approval to the list of candidates from the party high commands in New Delhi.
Chief Minister Manik Saha who would be the BJP’s CM face is busy with door to door poll campaign in Bordowali Assembly constituency in Agartala.
Counting of votes will take place on March 2 simultaneously with Meghalaya and Nagaland.
