Happy Diwali 2018: The Festival of Lights is upon us. Diwali, also called Deepavali, is celebrated across India and is one of the most awaited festivals every year.
Essentially a celebration of the victory of good over evil, the Hindu festival commemorates Lord Ram’s return to his kingdom Ayodhya after his 14-year exile during which he also killed demon king Ravan who had abducted Sita. To mark his homecoming, households light lamps and burn firecrackers.

Many also worship Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, on this day.
