BJP turning a deaf ear to struggles of backward classes: Rahul in J’khand
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused the BJP of turning a deaf ear to the struggles of backward classes.
Congress accused the Narendra Modi government of following the policy of “divide and rule” as Rahul Gandhi protested at Rajghat for communal harmony
Lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress on Monday accused the Central government of following the policy of “divide and rule” ahead of party chief Rahul Gandhi’s protest at Rajghat for “communal harmony”.
“This Narendra Modi government believes in dividing the society. They are against pluralism, brotherhood and mutual co-existence. Divide and rule is in the DNA of this government,” Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said.
“Earlier, they divide Hindus and Muslims and now they are pitching Dalits against Non-Dalits,” he added.

However, the Congress was duty bound to not let the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) succeed in its evil plans, Surjewala said.
“It’s the solemn duty of the Congress to maintain the mutual brotherhood and compassion in the society… To ensure that pluralism, love and diversity prevails in the society,” he said.
“This is why crores of Congress supporters are protesting today under the able leadership of Rahul Gandhi against the divisive politics of BJP,” he added.
Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to observe a day’s fast at Rajghat to protect the country’s communal harmony after directing party leaders to organise fasts across the country against Modi government.
