Six people died in two roadmisahps when dense fog disrupted the surface communications across UP forcing authorities to remain alert on Monday.
Three people died when the bus carrying them collided head on with another in the Greater Noida area in the morning. According to reports, it took place only because of the poor visibility on on the Yamuna Expressway.
In another incident of road mishap, three people were killed while nine others sustained injuries on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway when five vehicles piled up in the Evra Katra area in Etawah district. It also took place because of poor visibility.
A private bus hit a truck because of zero visibility near Unraon village. Later, a car hit the bus and a truck coming thereafter hit the divider in order to save the crashed vehicles. Another truck also came under the impact of the collision when it hit the pile up vehicles.
The dense fog has also forced delay in the landing of all flights at the Lucknow and Varanasi airports in the morning. Long distance trains were delayed by 6-7 hours in the state. Samajwadi Party president,
Akhilesh Yadav, who reached the spot in Etawah took stock of the mishap, asked the authorities to ensure that these incidents do happen because of dense fog.
Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has issued directions to district officials to take steps to prevent accidents due to fog. The CM warned the people not to sleep on the side of the roads while asking officials to set up roadside tents and distribute warm clothes and blankets to the poor.
