Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said the police notice served to him regarding his “BJP attempting to buy AAP MLAs” remarks had no mention of an FIR, adding that he pitied the policemen who were forced to do such theatrics by their political bosses.

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police had on Saturday visited the chief minister’s official residence to serve him the notice in person, but AAP leaders insisted on giving them the notice. The police had also landed up at Delhi minister Atishi’s residence on Sunday to serve her the notice in the same case.

Kejriwal said whatever happened outside his residence where the police officers waited for about five hours just to hand over the notices, was nothing but an insult to the police force.
“I pity those officers. Young officers join the force with a lot of idealism that they will reduce crime and perform their duties, but they are forced to stoop to this level,” he said.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Atishi said after the ‘drama’ of cops visiting residences of AAP leaders and all the suspense that followed, finally two plain letters were delivered. She said she wanted to tell the crime branch that they were already aware of those against whom the allegations were made by her party.
“Everybody knows who have been trying to bring down opposition governments in the past seven to eight years, and now are approaching the AAP MLAs,” she added.
