A team of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), detected foreign currency worth more than 51 lakh concealed ingeniously inside a false layer of bag and sweet box at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday.

A senior CISF officer said, at about 06.46 am, on the basis of behaviour detection, CISF surveillance and intelligence staff deployed at Terminal-3, noticed suspicious activities of an Indian passenger in the Check-in area. The passenger, identified as Jaswinder Singh, was supposed to travel from Delhi to Dubai by SpiceJet Flight No. SG 011.

On suspicion, he was diverted to a random checking point, where, while checking his bag through the X-BIS machine, doubtful images of concealed foreign currency were noticed.

On thorough checking of his bag and a sweet box, 2,49,500 Saudi Riyals and 500 Qatar Riyals worth more than 51 lakh, collectively, were detected, and ingeniously concealed in the false layer of the bag and sweet box kept inside the bag.
