Children among 15 killed in stampede at New Delhi Railway Station
According to the police, the stampede-like situation at the railway station was caused by the sudden influx of passengers from delayed trains.
KPCC president K Sudhakaran has alleged that the CPI-M has committed every murder with the knowledge of top party leaders including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. There is knowledge and consent of leadership in every murder committed by CPI-M in Kannur. The party has killed around fifty youth in Kannur district alone, he said.
“The Congressmen of Kannur have realized from experience that every murder was done with the knowledge of top leaders including Pinarayi Vijayan,” Sudhakaran said in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.

The statement of Sudhakaran came in the backdrop of the revelation of Akash Thillankeri, an accused in the murder of Youth Congress leader S P Shuhaib, that he had committed the murder on the orders of the CPI-M leaders of Edayannur.

He made the admission in reply to a post by DYFI Mattannur block Secretary Sareesh Poomaram.
“Edayannur party leaders made us carry out the murder. If we open our mouths, many of them would not be able to walk in the open. Those who made the call have been given jobs in cooperative bodies. We, who carried out the order, have been pushed into poverty and thrown out of the party,” Akash Thillankeri said in a Facebook post.
“When the party denounced us, we had to turn to gold smuggling for our survival. No one from the party had tried to stop us or correct us. Now, I have lost my patience and have come out in the open so that people know the facts,” he further says in the post.
Opposition leader VD Satheesan said that the revelations made by Akash Thillankeri and Swapna Suresh were proof of the decay inside the CPI-M. The CPI-M, which uses criminals like Thillankeri to kill political opponents and uses people like Swapna to make money illegally, has regressed into a terrorist organisation, he added.
