KPCC president K Sudhakaran said, on Tuesday, demanded a court-monitored probe into the financial irregularity charges levelled against LDF convenor and former minister EP Jayarajan.

Speaking to media persons in Kannur, Sudhakaran said that the charges levelled against EP Jayarajan could not be considered as an internal matter of the CPI-M. Sudhakaran said the Central agencies should conduct a fair investigation into the issue. There should be a court-supervised investigation into charges levelled against EP Jayarajan, he said.

The Congress’ Kerala chief said his party is considering approaching the court seeking a court-monitored probe into the allegations  against Jayarajan.

Meanwhile, Opposition leader VD Satheesan, on Tuesday, asked why Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the CPM hid the complaint against EP Jayarajan under wraps since 2019.

VD Satheesan stated that the UDF meeting to be held on 30th will decide on the course of action to be followed in the matter.

He alleged that the chief minister had received the complaint in this regard in 2019, but he has taken no action on it.

Satheesan said when Jayarajan was minister of industries and commerce, the CPI-M Kannur district committee discussed the issue,CPI-M state secretary MV Govindan was also aware of the allegations against EP Jayarajan. The party also tried to conceal the issue, he said.

As regards Union minister V Muralidharan’s demand for ED probe in the allegations against EP Jayarajan, Satheesan alleged that  Union minister (V Muraleedharan ) is demanding ED probe into the allegations with an aim to settle Kodakara hawala money case in which BJP  leaders are is facing charges.

The other day, Satheesan also demanded a probe on why central agencies remain silent when financial irregularity allegations are made against CPI- M in Kerala.

In this connection, it has been reported that KP Ramesh Kumar, the business man who associated with the ayurveda resort, had given a complaint to then CPI-M state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan in 2019. But, no action is taken on it. In his complaint, Ramesh kumar reportedly alleged that in the ayurveda resort project, EP Jayarajan has cheated him and he lost crores of Rupees

Meanwhile, State Secretary MV Govindan said that the allegations against EP Jayarajan will not be discussed in the PB. He said that the media fabricated the allegations against EP Jayarajan.
