Assam CM Sarma criticises Congress, urges support for BJP in upcoming by-elections
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took aim at the Congress, accusing it of obstructing development and lacking commitment to public welfare.
“All other political parties have become family parties, the Congress has been identified as a family party, regional parties have also become family parties,” said the BJP president at a closed-door meeting of the Rajasthan BJP’s working committee.
BJP President J P Nadda late on Monday night said his party was the only national party while all other parties have become family parties including the Congress.
Addressing a closed-door meeting of the Rajasthan BJP’s working committee at a private hotel-cum-entertainment venue, Nadda said, “BJP is the exceptional party as all other political parties have become family parties, the Congress has been identified as family party, regional parties have also become family parties”.
The BJP chief predicted that under the “efficient leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in 2023, the BJP will form a government in Rajasthan with a three-fourth majority”.

“I congratulate the state leadership and their entire team for the successful organisation of Jan Aakrosh Yatra and Jan Aakrosh meetings and feel that we need to carry forward such campaigns with a missionary zeal,” he was quoted in a party release as saying.
Accusing the incumbent Congress government in the state led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of poor performance, Nadda said, “The condition of Rajasthan is worse under the Ashok Gehlot regime. The graph of crime against women, Dalits and cyber crime is increasing rapidly. Due to the continuous increase in the prices of electricity, petrol and diesel under the rule of the Congress government, the common man of the state is in trouble.”
Recalling the contribution of late Sundar Singh Bhandari, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Bhanwarlal Sharma, Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi to strengthening of the Bharatiya Janata Party from its Jana Sangh days in Rajasthan, he said their devotion and commitment to the party can never be forgotten.
The party’s state executive was attended by BJP National General Secretary and State Incharge Arun Singh, State President Dr. Satish Poonia, National Vice President Vasundhara Raje, National Minister and State Co-incharge Vijaya Rahatkar, State Organization General Secretary Chandrashekhar, Leader of Opposition Gulabchand Kataria, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathod, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kailash Chowdhary, former State President Arun Chaturvedi, Ashok Parnami, National Minister Alka Gurjar, Core Committee members CP Joshi, Kankamal Katara and National Spokesperson Rajyavardhan Rathore among others. were present along with State Working Committee members.
