Political Misogyny
The prevalence of misogyny in Indian politics reflects a troubling reality that undermines the progress of women in public life.
Calling demonetisation and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) “strong economic measures”, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday accused the Congress of “trying to defame” the Centre’s economic policies.
Speaking to the media while campaigning in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh, Rajnath Singh said: “Congress is trying to defame the Central government on economic front. Demonetisation and GST are strong economic measures.”

“Had India’s economy not been strong no foreign investor would’ve come here. The fact is foreign investments are rising,” he added.

The Congress party’s political campaigning in both Himachal and Gujarat has repeatedly raked up the issues of demonetisation and GST terming them a complete failure and a blunder committed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Congress’ attack spearheaded by party Vice President Rahul Gandhi has targeted the Centre accusing it of slowing down the country’s growth due to demonetisation and ruining small businesses by GST.
