Bihar bypolls: NDA leading on three seats, BSP on one
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates were leading on three seats while Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was ahead on one seat as trends for the Bihar bypolls started pouring in on Saturday.
With over a month’s time remaining for declaration of results of recently concluded Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections, both the main political parties, Congress and BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) are in analysis mode to assess the outcome.
BJP would conduct the meeting of its poll incharges at district, parliamentary constituency level on 19 November which would be attended by state chief Satpal Singh Satti, former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, Union Health and Family Welfare minister J P Nadda along with all MPs.
On the other hand, Congress is seeking constituency-wise report of polling and its trends from all blocks to analyze the positives and negatives that were seen in assembly polls, held on 9 November.

Though both the parties are claiming victory and are claiming the record turnout of voters to be in their favour, the leaders are vary of factionalism and defections by party cadres.
BJP leaders are hopeful of coming into power in the state, keeping in the mind the previous trend of change among the electorate of the state.
The saffron party leaders are also upbeat over public response to rallies of Prime Minister NarendraModi in the state and the projection of Dhumal as CM face, just few days before the polls.
Congress, on the other hand, was riding on the popularity of 83-year-old leader and six time chief minister Virbhadra Singh who had single handedly led the party’s poll campaign.
Though the party was vary of damage done by rebels and many of its ministers did not canvassoutside their constituency, leading to disappointment among cadres.
ongress party has so far expelled over 50 leaders from party for working against the official candidate during the polls, the BJP has so far expelled five leaders for anti-party activities.
There is growing chorus among both the party candidates for taking strict action against rebels or party workers who had defected from the party line during recently concluded assembly elections.
“The party would analyse polling trends and assess the voters’ mood during voting for recently held assembly polls,” state BJP spokesperson MahenderDharmani told the Statesman.
However, Dharmani refused to divulge information on whether action against rebel candidates or defectors would be on the agenda of party leaders during the meeting.
While the Congress party termed the exercise as routine and the party spokesperson, DevenderBushehari said, “The party usually seeks report from all party candidates to discuss polling percentage in each constituency and voting trends during polls.”
