Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma showcased optimism about the state’s investment potential during his visit to Mumbai, emphasising a dual focus on infrastructure development and attracting investors.

Addressing a press conference, Sarma highlighted Assam’s ambitious outlook, stating, “Our focus is both infrastructure and investment. I think keeping both in mind, we should be able to get a good chunk of investment, but how much I cannot say now. I do not have any target, but ‘Yeh Dil Maange More.’”

He underscored the Assam government’s proactive approach in facilitating investments, ensuring seamless coordination between state and Central authorities to expedite clearances. “We always strive to secure approvals promptly by working hand-in-hand with both governments,” he added, reaffirming Assam’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment.

During his Mumbai tour, the chief minister met with prominent industry leaders, including Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata and his son Neville Tata. Expressing gratitude for the Trusts’ ongoing investments in Assam, Sarma extended an invitation to participate in the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.

In another high-profile engagement, Sarma met Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra over lunch at the Gateway Building in Mumbai. Praising Mahindra’s vision for industrialization, Sarma proposed a partnership between the Mahindra Group and the Assam government to accelerate the state’s industrial development.
