Serampore Girls’ College hosts inter-college sports
The sports meet was inaugurated by Dr Sudipto Roy, the MLA of Serampore and president of the governing body of Serampore Girls' College.
On Friday, minister Indranil Sen inaugurated the Children’s Film Festival at Chandannagar.
The district magistrate, commissioner of police, Chandannagar Commissonrate, Chandannagar mayor and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Satyajit Ray’s Joi Baba Felunath was screened on the opening day. The festival will continue till 10 March. Some of the films to be screened are Kabuliwala, Mr Anusuman, Hira Aankti and others. Free shows have been arranged for the school children and each day there will be three shows. To give a thrilling experience to the children, the premises of the Chandannagar Ravindra Bhavan have been given a look of Amazon jungle.

Mr Sen said, “Today, everyone is getting addicted to mobile phones. Hence, a step has been taken to entertain children with informative and entertaining films on the big screen.”
