Dr KK Tembhurane, Civil Surgeon at the hospital, reported that the facility is staffed with three obstetricians and a skilled nursing team.
The hospital is equipped with a modern delivery room and a Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) to provide critical neonatal care post-delivery. Out of the total deliveries, 161 newborns required specialized care in the SNCU.
Local residents have expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s services. Nohar Patel, a resident of Khaira village, recounted how he brought his 23-year-old wife to the hospital in September when she experienced complications during labor.
Doctors diagnosed fetal distress, necessitating a cesarean section that ensured the safety of both mother and child. Similarly, Mahendra Paikara from Khosra village near Giroudpuri explained that his 28-year-old wife experienced prolonged labor.
She was admitted to the district hospital, where a successful cesarean delivery was performed. He expressed relief that all services were provided free of charge, saving them substantial expenses.
Dr Rajesh Kumar Awasthi, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Balodabazar, noted that the district hospital is certified by the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) following a rigorous evaluation.
This certification underscores the hospital’s commitment to maintaining high-quality healthcare services. Continuous efforts are being made to further enhance the facilities, ensuring accessible and improved maternal and neonatal care for the region’s residents.
