Centre shielding Veena’s firm from CBI-ED probe: Kerala Oppn leader

Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly VD Satheesan regretted that the Central government failed to initiate probe against the firm Exalogic Solutions,  a firm owned by chief minister’s daughter Veena T as the BJP and the CPI-M have entered into a secret pact ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Satheesan said despite the Registrar of Companies (ROC) identifying serious irregularities in the deal between Exalogic Solutions and Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL), the Centre didn’t initiate a probe by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The senior Congress leader alleged that Union minister V Muraleedharan has been acting as a mediator between the BJP government at the Centre and the LDF government in Kerala to save each other’s face.

“Even after the Registrar of Companies found money laundering, the Centre didn’t deem it fit to ask the ED or CBI to investigate the case. It is playing a political game,” said Satheesan.
