Amid chaos at Delhi & Mumbai airports following record passenger footfall , Choudhury Charan Singh International Airport or known as Amausi airport has stepped up its effort to deal with the increasing  passengers during the Christmas and New Tear.

With the year-end travel picking up and has surpassed the pre-covid level, the airport has undertaken several initiatives for smooth passage of passengers across various points.

CCSI Airport Spokesperson said here on Thursday that, “To ease the passenger movement at the airport, we have started operating additional entry gate to ease the entry of passengers in to the Terminal building. We have also deployed dedicated team at the common-use self-service (CUSS) machine to assist and guide passengers to use the CUSS.”

“Dynamic planning of check-in counters is also done as and when required by the airlines. With the increase in number of passengers, the number of check-in baggage has also increased. So to manage the screening of additional baggage, we are operating by-pass X-ray machine in addition to In-Line Baggage Handling System (ILBHS) to increase the through put of departure baggage,” the spokesman added.

The passenger traffic at Lucknow Airport has surpassed the Pre-Covid levels. The passenger traffic has grown by over 25 per cent to an average of 17000 passengers per day in December 2022 as compared to December 2021.

The total aircraft movement has also gone up by 40 per cent to 128 movements per day in December 2022 as compared to December 2021 from Lucknow’s CCSI Airport.

“We have also issued travel advisory on social media handles of Lucknow Airport. We are requesting domestic passengers to report 2.5 hours early and for international passengers to report four hours early for seamless travel experience through CCSI Airport,” the Spokesperson said.

 CCSI Airport has deployed Customer Service Executives at the pre-embarkation security check to guide and assist passengers for quick security check clearance, close coordination with CISF to operate maximum X-ray machines during peak hours.

Besides, the airport has doubled the baggage scanners to six and door frame metal detectors to 9 from 7 earlier in pre-embarkation security check area.It has also increased utilisation of Aerobridges to 40 flights per day from 26 flights earlier.

The airport has also increased retail and F&B options for passenger at CCSI Airport. In last one year, the airport has added 13 outlets including brands such as Wrapafella, United Colours of Benneton, Rennie Cosmetics, Toscee, Pavers England and Tynimo, Rare Planet and Mr. Brown among others.
