The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday took custody of former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in an ongoing probe into a case related to the murder of journalist Rajdeo Ranjan.
Lodged in the high security Tihar Jail of Delhi, the former RJD MP was on May 26 named among the 10 accused in the murder of Ranjan by the CBI.

The suspicion over Shahbuddin’s involvement deepened after names of two of his men Mohammad Kaif and Mohammad Javed surfaced.
Shahabuddin, facing more than 39 criminal cases, including those of kidnapping and murder, was transferred to Tihar jail onFebruary 18.
