The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at the residence of former governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satyapal Malik, along with around 30 locations, in connection with an alleged corruption case.
The searches were conducted by the Central agency as part of a probe into alleged corruption in awarding civil works for the Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) in 2019, sources said. Way back in 2022, the Jammu and Kashmir government had called for a CBI probe in this connection.

The CBI is conducting a probe into allegations of unfair practices adopted while awarding civil contracts to the tune of approximately Rs 2,200 crore.
Reacting to the development, Malik said, through a post on X, the searches are conducted by the agencies at his place in his absence despite that fact that he was unwell for three-four days and has been hospitalised.
“I am a farmer’s son, will not be scared from such raids. I am with the farmers,” he wrote on “X.”
He said while the Central agency was conducting searches at his premises, those people against whom he had complained were spared.
The federal probe agency has also booked other officials and a firm in this regard.
According to the sources, the operation started on Thursday morning with the sleuths conducting searches across multiple states at the locations of Malik and others linked to the case.
