The Calcutta University (CU) has announced fresh dates for its undergraduate examinations.
The undergraduate exams which were supposed to be taken on August 28 will now be held from August 29 onwards. More than 1000 students are scheduled to take the examination.

A notification issued on Friday by CU’s Controller of Examinations, Jayanta Sinha, had read, “Undergraduate examinations scheduled on 28.08.2018 have been deferred. The revised date will be announced shortly.”
The new dates for the examination are August 29, August 30, August 31, September 1, September 4 and September 6. Candidates should note that the exam time will remain the same.

August 28 is the foundation day of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (student wing). TMCP controls more than 90 per cent of the student unions at the 145 colleges affiliated to the university.
West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will address a rally near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue on Mayo Road to mark the occasion. This is the same venue where BJP’s national president Amit Shah had organised a meeting on August 11.
Mamata Banerjee is most likely to make some key announcements at the rally, including naming the new TMCP president.
