Himachal Pradesh: Cabinet nod to Special Task Force to combat drug abuse
The Cabinet gave its nod to rename Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) as Dr Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration.
The Congress MP from Himachal said, “The budget is completely directionless, due to which unemployment and inflation will increase in the country.”
Expressing disappointment over the Union Budget presented in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, MP and State Congress President Pratibha Singh said it will neither improve the country’s economy nor achieve growth rate.
“The budget is completely directionless, due to which unemployment and inflation will increase in the country,” she said.

In her reaction on the Union Budget, Pratibha Singh termed it anti-people and said that in today’s era of inflation, an unsuccessful attempt has been made to woo the employees.

She said that the tax exemption of up to seven lakhs rupees to the employees should have been increased to at least Rs 12 lakhs.
“Special schemes should have been given in the budget for the development of hilly states like Himachal, but nothing like this has been done,” she said, adding that
hill areas have been neglected in the budget.
The agriculture and horticulture sector has been completely ignored, she said, adding that there is no proposal in the budget for the development of railways in Himachal, which is very sad.
This budget has once again disappointed the people of the state, said Pratibha Singh.
