Former Telangana chief minister and BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday underwent a hip replacement surgery after he suffered a fracture following a fall in the washroom at his farmhouse in Siddipet district.
He was then taken to a private hospital at Somajiguda. In a medical bulletin issued by the hospital, it was stated, “On evaluation, including CT scans, he was found to have a hip fracture (intracapsular neck of femur fracture) and that he would require six to eight weeks to recover from his surgery”.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed departmental secretary of health and family welfare department to enquire about the health condition of KCR. The official conveyed to the management that the best care should be provided to him.
While the former chief minister was being brought to the hospital from Siddipet, the police provided a green channel for his movement. The 69-year-old leader was staying at the farmhouse in Erravelli ever since he vacated Pragathi Bhavan following the poll debacle.
A large number of party workers and leaders gathered at the hospital where the BRS supremo was undergoing treatment.
