The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) taunted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday with a tweet asking why the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief did not question Congress president Rahul Gandhi for the latter’s ‘Congress is a Muslim party’ comment.

In the tweet posted in Hindi by the official Twitter handle of the BJP-Delhi, the saffron party also took a dig at the Delhi CM for apologising to political leaders after making allegedly defamatory remarks against them.

“Chief Minister Kejriwal-ji, who is experienced in apologising after lying, never utters a word when Rahul Gandhi says Congress is a party of Muslims. How would you define this relationship, Kejriwal-ji?” read the tweet by BJP.

The party was responding to the Delhi CM’s remark where he taunted BJP for calling itself the party of Hindus.

“The BJP says it is a party of Hindus. If that is so, at least get jobs for the children of Hindus. Get them better education. Do something for someone,” Kejriwal said on Twitter.

PM Modi taunts Rahul Gandhi

BJP’s jibe at Kejriwal comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assailed the 48-year-old Rahul Gandhi over his reported remark.

Speaking at a public rally in Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, the PM said, “I read in a newspaper that Rahul Gandhi said that Congress is a party of Muslims. I am not surprised because former PM Manmohan Singh had said that Muslims have the first right on India’s natural resources.”

“It’s okay if he [Rahul] says that Congress is a party for Muslims. My question to the naamdar [dynast] of Congress is: please tell me it yours is a party exclusively for Muslim men or does it include Muslim women? Does it have any place for the honour and dignity of Muslim women?” said the PM, who spoke after laying the foundation stone of the Purvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh.
